Dinners

First dinner was a 7 course meal and quite adequate. There was always a full pot of green tea. They also served us beer every evening with dinner. The number of courses seems to increase as we go along. The best was at a restaurant where you can order from a chef who cook the dish and serve you as you wait!

Buffet dinners, help yourselves

Delicious looking pigs' tails and crunchy ears!
Every meal was a feast with many courses. we were certainly served with more food than we can eat. 24 of us divided into 8 persons per table. The tour guides apparently were not allowed to join us, the tour members. They shared a separate table with our bus driver; but in the same restaurant. The quality of food provided on this tour was excellent. The tour guide explained that our group was sponsored by the China Tourist Bureau!

The normal fare consist of more than 9 courses, with rice.

Steam boat dinner

Some of the paintings on the walls of the restaurants were of excellent quality; but they could very well be reproductions of famous paintings. I do not know much about Chinese art. So, I can't really tell the difference.
